Topic: Law Department Operations and Technology Trends

In the past few years, the legal industry has changed dramatically as the result of both economic pressures and technological advances. Join us as we look at the drivers and resulting changes in law department operations and technology, and learn about the benefits and risks of the solutions discussed. Technology trends to be discussed include:

- Reducing the physical footprint of operations, making workers more mobile and meeting the needs of a decentralized workforce
- Global extension of key initiatives and tools to support virtual teams
- Legal resource optimization using metrics and reports, automated benchmarking and alternative service providers
- Operating models and efficiency initiatives, including retooling workflow processes and the focus on legal project management
- Managing risk through e-discovery preparedness and compliance systems
- Managing information using enterprise search and knowledge management, and the impact of social media
