The Changing Role of the CIO

To quote one of our authors, "The role of a CIO in a law firm has changed over the years from being internally focused on technology infrastructure and management to a role that is more tightly integrated with management of the overall business.  CIOs are now also tasked with strategic alignment of technology and the business units, management of electronic records and associated compliance and litigation issues, increasing data security measures to control hacking, spam, viruses and electronic theft, and understanding the elements of e-discovery and computer forensics in order to work with lawyers and clients when these issues come to the fore."

Knowledge is needed to tackle these new issues.  Our thanks go to our authors for providing insight on various topics to enlighten you, the new and improved CIO.
