Voice and Data Communications - Is Your Network Ready?

When we discussed what topics to cover for this Voice and Data white paper, each of the article ideas seemed to respond to the same question: “Is your network ready?”  Obviously, there are a number of new technologies and methods that promise to take your network to the next level. The trick, according to our authors, is to implement those that not only suit your current needs, but also “future-proof” your network and provide for redundancy in case of emergency.  It’s a tall order, but these articles promise to help you prepare. 

In speaking about the article topics to professionals outside the voice-and-data and even IT realms, I was surprised to hear how many of them were not only aware of these issues, but also curious about them.  At least one person asked me to send a copy of the white paper when it was published.  We forget that ILTA members work on the frontlines of new technology and that your experience leads the way for its acceptance by the rest of the market.

We’re proud that each of these articles was contributed by an ILTA member; it means that they’re based on first-hand experience and research and that they’re written in a language voice and data professionals speak every day.  It can be a huge task, putting your experience, knowledge and advice onto a blank screen, but we’re thankful to the authors for rising to the challenge.  Perhaps it will inspire you to contribute next time.
