Law Departments: Technologies and Best Practices

Recognizing that law departments can have different needs from law firms, we've gathered a group of authors who share their expertise in some of the unique requirements.  But that's not to say the scope of information presented is limited only to law departments.  We're sure our law firm readers will be able to use this information, as well.

We gratefully acknowledge our authors who look at the savings and risk reductions of managing e-discovery inhouse, what to look for in an e-billing system, how to select and implement a matter management system, what document assembly software can do for you, and what might make up a legal professional's ultimate toolbox.

In addition, we're very excited to offer the results of ILTA's first-ever law departments survey. This inaugural survey sets a benchmark from which we will be able to spot future trends.  Our thanks go out to the corporate, governmental, not-for-profit and educational law departments that participated in the survey, with a special thanks to Baker Robbins & Company for analyzing and reporting on the results.

Law Department Peer Group
ILTA's Law Department Peer Group, which covers corporate, governmental, educational and judicial law departments, connects IT professionals and legal staff in member organizations to facilitate educational opportunities and networking events.  The group strives to provide webinars, white papers and networking opportunities for its subscribers; and its listserv facilitates discussion relevant to both the technical and process-related needs of corporate members.
