Part 2: The Personnel/People Issues (Grande Lakes Resort)
Kevin Doak, Director of Loss Prevention at the Grande Lakes Resort will focus on the human side of disaster preparedness and recovery. While disaster recovery plans are necessary to protect business systems, the best disaster recovery plans must include the human/personnel component. Kevin will provide an overview of the Resort’s hurricane preparedness plan and will share some of the lessons learned through the past two hurricane seasons both at Grande Lakes and at the Marriott properties in New Orleans.
Part 3: The Communication Issues

Michael is one of the principal partners at LAN Associates and has been with the firm since March 1990. Prior to joining LAN Associates, Michael was working with (2) top New York City Law Firms helping them plan and implement their Computer Network Technology. Michael is an InterWoven Certified Engineer, Hummingbird Engineer, Worldox Engineer, Interaction Engineer and a Novell Certified Sales Engineer.
Michael is a regular contributor to such magazines as Computer Reseller News and VAR Business. He is a recent member of Novell’s Platinum Council and actively speaks at local ALA events.
Kevin Doak, Director of Loss Prevention, Grande Lakes Resort
Kevin is one of the key members of the Orlando Grande Lakes Crisis Emergency Response Team (CERT) and has been with this property for the past 2 years. He has been with the Marriott International for over 13 years in various Security and Human Resource positions throughout the state of Florida. Prior to joining Marriott, Kevin retired as a U. S. Navy Master Chief with over 20 years of service. During his Navy career Kevin was stationed at various military installations including being assigned to Presidential Support Duty.

Drawing on a wealth of experience and strong ties to the legal industry’s best and brightest CIO’s, senior manager and partners, as Vice President of Legal Solutions for MessageOne, Inc., Mr. Sachs is responsible for the development and growth of MessageOne’s law firm customer base. Prior to founding MessageOne, Mr. Sachs practiced law for nearly a decade in New York City in the area of civil litigation with Fishbein, Badillo, Wagner & Harding. Mr. Sachs began his professional career at the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC). He holds a J.D. cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law and a B.S.M. from Tulane University.
