It is universally accepted that well-managed projects are key to the success of any business, and law firms are increasingly seeing the value of centralizing their project management activities under the umbrella of an internal “Project Management Office.” Our speaker will outline why many firms have made the decision to bring this expertise in-house. She will discuss how the science of project management is applicable to large-scale implementation and integration projects within law firms and the key tools and techniques that are most effective within that unique environment. This session will also consider when and how you should involve lawyers in projects and methods to ensure they are motivated to participate.

Pat Morris, Director, Project Implementation for Torys LLP, is a certified Project Management Professional with many years’ experience managing large-scale projects within a law firm environment. She established the first formal project office in a large Canadian firm and recently joined Torys LLP, one of Canada’s most prestigious firms, to lead the implementation of its project management methodology and to establish a successful firm-wide project management culture.

She has been an active member of ILTA for five years, serving as a Regional Vice President for the New York Region for two years, and she is currently on the Board of Directors. With over 10 years IT experience, Judi enjoys the vast spectrum of opportunities the legal community provides. A frequent contributor to Law Technology News and a panelist at LegalTech New York and the ILTA conference, she enjoys sharing information with her peers and supporting their endeavors and growth. Judi has been a member of the Microsoft Legal Advisory Council since its inception in 1998 and an advocate for the legal community and the application of technology to the practice of law.

Todd Corham is the Director of Information Services and Technology at Lowenstein Sandler PC, a 200-attorney firm in Roseland, New Jersey. He has been involved in legal technology for over 20 years. Todd has conducted and compiled ILTA's e-mail survey for the last two years and was a panelist on ILTA's Web conference on E-Mail Retention and Policies. He has worked as a training consultant specializing in legal technology and has written and presented for various industry groups and publications.
Jeffrey Brandt, Chief Information Officer, Cozen O’Connor
Jeffrey Brandt is the Chief Information Officer with the law firm of Cozen O’Connor headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. He has close to 20 years of experience in legal automation working with geographically distributed organizations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom on information management projects including: long- range strategic planning, needs analysis, workflow management and reengineering, knowledge management, IT structure and personnel requirements, budgeting, system management/administration and complex systems design. Jeffrey is a frequent educational speaker at regional and national user, trade and industry conferences.
Eva Steiner, Director of Information Technology, Dewey Ballantine LLP
Eva Steiner joined Dewey Ballantine LLP, one of the largest international law firms in the country, in May of 1998 after spending a total of 15 years at two other major law firms in New York and Boston. She has extensive experience building IT organizations and positioning them to easily adapt to rapid changes in technology. Her background includes application development, system analysis and network design, including all aspects of infrastructure, hardware, software and telecommunications. In addition, Eva has served several years on the Board of Directors of ILTA, Inc., a nonprofit organization that serves as an independent source of information and cost-effective solutions for the legal community.
Sam Collier, CEO, Aspire.net Managed Systems Inc., and Chief Technology Officer, Union Square Technology Group LLC.
Prior to co-founding Aspire.net and Union Square, Sam Collier held several senior technical and managerial positions at LANSystems Inc. and its successor, Donnelly Enterprise Solutions Inc. from 1992 through 1997.
