CALGARY AREA MEETING
Date: May 23, 2007
12:45 pm – 2:00 pm
* Lunch will be provided by ILTA
Topic: ILTA 101 – Getting the Most Out of Your Membership
Description: ILTA's recent member satisfaction survey show the listservs are far and beyond the most used and valued benefit. Webinars and the annual conference also ranked highly.
But there's so much more – extranet and face-to-face networking and white papers, oh, my! Come on out and meet with your fellow ILTA/legal community peers – lunch is on us!
We'll take a peek at some slightly less known aspects of ILTA and answer questions you may have about how ILTA works (who are the RVPs and PGVPs, and how does that conference get pulled together every year?). We'll discuss opportunities for involvement in ILTA, many of which require minimal time. We'll also touch on strategies for expanding ILTA awareness to your non-IT co-workers – after all, your membership is "by firm" so let's get the most from it! Consider this "Everything You Wanted To Know About ILTA But Didn't Have Time To Ask . . . " with food. Hope to see you there!
Presenter: Honora Wade is the chair of the ILTA User Support Peer Group and a frequent speaker on training and user support topics at ILTA, ALA and other events nationwide. After creating Training Manager and Service Desk Manager roles at her firm, Perkins Coie LLP, over the past seven years, she recently moved to a User Liaison role for major applications that were recently rolled out and/or upgraded. Her passion is helping to bridge the “geek gap” so non-tech people can get the most out of technology.
